My sistah took me sightseeing around the Big Island for my birthday. What an amazing adventure. What an awesome sister! My ohana are the best! Literal oceans apart and oceans of time separated us, but with God’s blessings our blood flows thicker than lava and we are reunited. I love them all and appreciate them with all of being. God bless 🙏 (AJT) (QM)

“Punaluʻu beach is the most famous black sand beach of Hawaii. Two reasons for the popularity of this beach are the gorgeous black sand beach *and* the fact that you can often see endangered Hawksbill turtles and green turtles basking in the sun on the beach

Punaluʻu is an expansive and easily accessible black sand beach on the Big Island. It is a great place to go for a quick swim, snorkel, a (short) coastal hike, camping (with permit), or to stop for a picnic.

The sand at the beach is made of small pitch-black fragments of lava. Try picking up a handful when you are at the beach to see if you can still recognize some of the larger parts as coming from an old lava flow!

The beach itself is lined by rows of coconut palms. The shade under the palms is a good place to hang out because the black sand can get very hot in the sunlight.”

Punalu’u Bake shop is a must and their baked goods are amazing! Thank you Sistah Sarah for the best Birthday ever! ❤️
What a beautiful sight! And of course, I find The Lord’s Prayer on a sea shell in the gift shop. Friendly reminder of who brought me here, through it all, and who ordained such blessed unions and creations. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Amen. (QM)
