A short work trip to Milan with some work friends, Ohana, here in Italy. This was the first part of the trip, the second part was in Rome, of which I stayed in the hotel for a day and a half with heat exhaustion, diarrhea and sever back and joint pain.
Although the second part of the trip was “shitty”, the first part, which was in Milan, was fun. Warning to visitors of the Duomo, the stairs going down to the ground level are quite tiring. I would strongly urge any visitors with arthritis, back pain, joint pain, knee pain or leg problems to avoid the Duomo!

I was not prepared to walk that many stairs, walk that much in general, sweat that much, and eat that much in such a short time. It was fun, but next time I’ll take a bit longer for so many activities.

A short trip to the Tuscany region in Italy, with some work friends, Ohana. Eating, drinking (for those who drink, not me), and a guided tour. On the “Get Your Guide” app we booked this tour that took us to Siena, San Gemignano for lunch and Pisa.
The train ride there and back was pretty warm in the cabin, and it was warm outside in each stop. There was a lot of walking and sweating involved, but an overall great experience.

This neighborhood is a small town in Napoli, Italy, and there is always something going on. Very festive, authentic people and food, and full of culture! These are pictures and videos from one of the local neighborhood festivals.
This was a quick trip to the city of Matera, in the Basilicata Southern Italy region. A couple of friends and I stayed here a night and enjoyed every second of this much needed time of exploration and fellowship.
“According to tradition, since 1389, every year on the 2nd July, Matera celebrates the Madonna della Bruna, the city’s Patron saint. Steeped in religious traditions, full of vibrant pagan rites, this spectacular festival is magical to be a part of. The Madonna della Bruna festival is the longest day of the year for Materans: the entire city pays homage to the Virgin, with celebrations long-awaited by the faithful. The festival celebrates the Virgin Mary apparition to a peasant, in a neighbourhood known today as Piccianello. The Carro Trionfale, a giant float, carries the Madonna around the streets of the town centre, up to the Cathedral. At night, the float continues its journey across the town’s central square, where it is grabbed and destroyed by the citizens, according to tradition.
The legend
A mysterious noble woman appeared to a peasant and his child while they were walking to the town. It is told that they agreed to take her to the inhabited centre. Once at the district known today as Piccianello district, in front of the most notable people in town, she disclosed all the magnificence of the Virgin Mary and asked the peasant to bring a letter to the Bishop, where she revealed she was the Mother of Jesus. All bystanders had a sudden flash of inspiration and since then, each year, on the 2nd of July, the apparition of the Virgin has been commemorated by carrying her statue in procession along the streets of Matera, on a giant float that is grabbed and destroyed by the citizens”

The private spa could be reserved for one hour, and you have it all to yourself. It has a nice pool, steam rom, sauna, shower, and seating.I found this feather on my balcony. In some circles, it has been said that this could be symbolic of angelic guidance and protection.

According to the media, there is no more sin, the commandments are old-fashioned and we are free to indulge every desire for pleasure whenever and wherever we find it. We spoke of freedom yesterday. Freedom is given so that we can love; it is not license to do whatever we please. Let us be careful to stay close to Jesus and not follow false prophets who want to tear Christianity apart.”

Yes, we are called to love our enemies (Matt 5:43-44), but that does not mean all enemies. This is more of a reference to those that have wronged you, deceived you, while possibly themselves as well; those who have done evil directly to you, or even indirectly. Carrying a grudge and personal hatred for your personal enemies is misdirected and self-destructive. However, we are not called to forgive ALL enemies! As in, you are not called to love the enemies of GOD. Do not mistaken the Law of Love to EVER be inclusive with the Love of Lawlessness! Do NOT love evil! Do NOT love the adversaries of that which is Truth, Justice and Holiness. Find the way and stay on the way, for He will always be with you (Psalms 16:8). To fulfill the Law we are called to hate evil.

This is a wonderful hotel with an authentic ambiance. It feels like you’re staying in the past, and the location is prime real estate. The restaurant is delicious and the breakfast buffet is excellent! I would recommend this place to anybody staying in Toledo! Service was excellent and I loved everything about it!
The Alcazar Monument is a very nice spot, with an amazing view. There’s a small restaurant and a lovely park right across from it. It’s definitely worth a stop if in the Toledo area!

There was a book fair here, so I was able to purchase a great looking book to add to my collection. The food was delicious, the people were great and the weather was excellent! The energy here in Toledo is contagious and positive. I truly had an amazing time, and it couldn’t have gone better!
There is so much to see here, and the local population is very welcoming. There is a rich culture here of Warfare, conquests, art, literature, and spirituality. Aside from genetic mapping confirming my ancestry, based on all of the aforementioned factors, it’s quite clear that Toledo flows through my veins and heart.
The blessings of the Lord are endlessly abundant when you have open eyes to see and receive it in your heart. Verily I tell you that GOD is good. Praise be to the Most High!

El Greco de Toledo is a very well known artist. This is a beautiful museum with many amazing art pieces! Very well presented with a plethora of information. A must-see for visitors of Toledo!
A beautiful quaint church. The smell and feel of the church is authentic and unique. Well worth the visit if in the area. It’s just a couple of blocks from the El Greco Museum.

It appears that this exhibition does not support such wicked practices either. The artificats and spooky music were quite creepy, but the information at each station was historical and very informative. I think this is an excellent place with a wealth of information.
This morning, I arrived in Toledo, Spain for the first time. It was a short flight from Napoli, Italy (where I am currently on assignment), and the weather was perfect! I checked into the hotel and walked right outside to begin the journey.
I have family roots from Cuba, and that’s where my surname came from. Without my Cuban heritage genealogy currently available, it’s fairly safe to say that I have ties to Toledo, Spain. It’s no wonder this place feels so familiar, as I’m sure it will for generations to come.
This was an amazing tour! We took the ferry to Capri, a bus up to the highest point in Capri, which is in Ana Capri, then had lunch. Afterwards we walked around the local shops for a while and then jumped on a boat ride around the island. Amazing views, delicious food and an unforgettable place! What a blessing!
The sky tram was spectacular and had quite a view of the island.
The one hour boat ride around the island only cost 21 euros, and it was amazing!

Once the process was complete, the bones were washed and finally laid to Santa Maria della Gaudioso, near Capodimonte. The Catacombs of San Gaudioso were discovered in 1601 during the construction of the Basilica. San Gaudioso died between 451 and 453 AD and was buried outside the city walls of Naples, where his place of burial soon began to arouse devotion and gradually became the Catacombs.
You will also see the Madonna della Sanita, from the 5th-6th century; the oldest depiction of the Virgin Mary in Campania.
Dating to the 2nd century AD, the Catacombs of San Gennaro was the preferred burial place of Roman noblemen and the first burial place of Naples 6th Bishop and first patron Saint, San Agrippino (his remains were later moved). In the 5th century, the remains of Naples’ patron Saint, San Gennaro, were moved here and though his remains were moved to Benevento in the 10th century, his tomb, as well as the oldest known portrait of him dating to the 5th century, are still visible today. San Gennaro’s remains were moved again in the 12th and 15th centuries, finally being interred in a special crypt beneath Naples Cathedral that was commissioned by Cardinal Carafa.”

The tour guide mentioned that the bones that covered the Catacombs were moved out some time ago. They also mentioned that only the wealthy were kept down here, to be placed close to a Saint. No doubt the church made some serious financial profits from their wealthy followers.

The Royal Palace of Caserta is a former royal residence in Caserta, southern Italy, constructed by the House of Bourbon – Two Sicilies as their main residence as kings of Naples. It is the largest palace erected in Europe during the 18th Century. In 1997, the palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.”

“Combining the influences of Versailles, Rome, and Tuscany, the Caserta Royal Palace and Park, north of Naples, was designed according to the wishes of Charles of Bourbon III by Luigi Vanvitelli, one of the greatest Italian architects of the 18th century. Caserta is considered a triumph of Italian Baroque, and ahead of its time. Expanding across 11 acres, the garden’s pools, fountains and cascades are aligned through a ‘telescope effect’, extending as far as the eye can see.”
“One of the last great European gardens, Caserta Royal Palace and Park borrowed from creations such as Versailles and the 16th century villas in Rome and Tuscany. But unlike those sites, this Italian masterpiece combined manicured gardens and natural woodland, with hunting lodges and a silk factory. It took the successes of previous designs and created a world of its own. For instance, the English Garden, set within the complex, is one of the greatest, oldest, and most important picturesque spaces created in Europe.”
“This respect for, and “improvement upon,” nature became the Caserta Palace’s calling card, and its seminal influence is undeniable. It was, for example, the first Italian landscape garden. But, the grounds also drew from the trends spreading across Europe at the time—namely providing leisure to the royals and accommodating botanical research. Hundreds of rare and precious plants from around the world were brought to Caserta, and still grow there today.
Importantly, the design was also singular because it shows the change in approach in the relationship between royals and the rest of the community. A silk factory and associated workers’ homes were included in the layout and the natural forests were incorporated. It is an eloquent expression of the Enlightenment in material form, integrated into, rather than imposed upon, its natural setting.
Discover the gardens of Caserta and follow the network of fountains and basins that stretch out from the palace to a waterfall in the forest. Past the castle-like playhouse and the pond that hosts mock sea battles, the English Garden—one of the estate’s highlights—has a lake and decorations that mimic ancient ruins. You can explore this vast and beautiful space by bike or horse and cart to explore as much as possible. The grounds are so impressive that they have been the set for major films such as Star Wars and Mission Impossible.”

“The second largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire, after the Colosseum in Rome. Located in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, it was built during the reign of Augustus, first Roman Emperor (63 BC – 14 AD). Many of the stadium’s concourses are still intact. Ancient workmanship is still visible in the fluted pillars, engraved cornices and statuary. The guts of the Capua Amphitheater were below ground, where combatants were held before entry into the arena and animals were restrained before being raised via elevator into the fight above. There is also an on-site Gladiator Museum. The most famous gladiator, Spartacus, was trained here!”

..Italy has some amazing sites and history. As in most places, a violent background of tribal warfare and colonization stems through the core of the culture. On the grounds of bloodshed structures are built, by enslavement and labor of the labor class. Idolatry, grandeur, and art, science and politics all blend in this land of rich culture and history. Nonetheless, the standing structures of prior civilizations that remain do reflect an awe and wonder of times past and beyond.

This was a bus tour that drove all along the scenic road known as Almafi Coast. We stopped along the way at a couple of scenic spots and then spent a few hours in the town of Vietri Sul Mare. There we had lunch and got to try the famous lemon delight, a well known pastry desert celebrated by locals and travelers coming through here.
Our tour guide was great and the beauty of this area cannot be overstated. The local restaurants and shops were unique, artistic and friendly. These photos don’t serve this beauty justice, but here they are nonetheless. This area is one of those places that could only be experienced to truly justify it’s charm.
“Amalfi’s period of prosperity changed drastically in the 14th century when the town succumbed to the plague in 1306 and 1348. The trading economy was all but ruined during a devastating sea storm in 1343 that destroyed the port, sailing ships and much of the town. Amalfi’s days as a major maritime Republic were over, and the town came under the rule of the nearby Kingdom of Naples in the late 14th century.”
“Lacking military and trading influence, the town slowly returned to a sleepy fishing village. By the 19th century travellers from throughout Europe began to rediscover the history and beauty of the Naples area on the Grand Tour. Writers, poets, musicians and painters arriving on the Amalfi Coast were stunned by its natural beauty. Description Order of the Dragonfly is a story about a group of war veterans and law enforcement officers who discover a nefarious and wicked empire’s plot to enslave humanity. In a reality and time, not too different from our own, a secret society has infiltrated all levels of government and political systems. Utilizing various control measures, science and propaganda, the future of the children of this world is looking dark. The opposing group of justice and war veterans are chosen to receive the Book of Light, where they will be empowered to free as many victims as possible and deliver righteous judgement on the decaying evil spreading over society. In the end, the light shall overcome the darkness.
So many times have I forgotten. So many days without end do my thoughts wander off and wonder in all of the complexities of the universe. The journey is often put aside, placing the virtues on the lecturer rather than the lecture. The teachings of all ages, the infinite laws that penetrate understanding and materialistic palpable findings. Where have the lost been found? Was it in the labyrinth of their own making? Who is the observer of it all? And has He observed everything I have ever thought or done? The path to righteousness is righteous, just as the meandering thoughts of the wicked are the only paths left behind. Broad and wide is the path of self destruction, and those who find a way out must become the way for others. In the search for truth I cannot dissipate the dissolving fat of the lies of who I was or thought I was supposed to be. Searching the heart of the subconscious plane is a dark journey into, past and beyond the self. Without illumination, we are all doomed to be swallowed by the serpent in the mist. In the darkness of forgotten worshiping of the self, in the reflections of the dissolution of my spiritual amnesia; here lays the fountain of truth, buried deep within the heart of the Spirit. For Spirit is Truth, and the Manifestation of Revelation. Who am I then that you say I am? Am I who I say I am or think thereof? I am the reflection, past, present, and beyond, and “I Am You.”
The Fowler’s Snare:
There is nothing but darkness. An endless void of nothing but black confoundment. I cannot see beyond it, nor the beginning or perceive the end. There is nothing but darkness. Reigning waves of infinite obscurity, shrouds of nothing that has been, is or will be. There is nothing but darkness. From the center of the abyss of lostness, a form begins to take shape. There is no light, there is an entity arising from the center. The middle of confusion, a silhouette of ambiguity slowly crawls out of the staring nothingness. It looks right through me, it was me and will become me. It’s beyond my comprehension, it’s behind my deepest fears, it is deep within and without me. Darkness personified, shadows before existence, the fowler’s snare. My old friend, a new beginning, the end of the self. Spirit of Shadows, Tree of Knowledge, Stairway to the Unknown. The death of birth, the birth of death, the mirror of sorrows. The Void, the Misunderstood, the Occult of Time.

How do we apply proper discernment to anything at all? That in itself is miraculous! Is this fantastic endowment of consciousness self made, self conscious or a blessing? How much of each would it be, whether small or in large part?
Let us not let dogmatic interpretations blind us, but let us scrupulously review the findings of our ancestors, benevolent or otherwise. The light cannot be seen unless it is dark, yet this does not suggest we should shroud the light or merge it with the dark companion.
Extremism is the enemy, as well as confusion and the deceptively subtle heedless nature in us all. Seek truth, justice and the spiritual way. Balance your self, but do not compromise your truest beliefs. Believe the Truth upon revelation, acceptance and following it to the end and thereafter. Deep inside is the divine spark, but do not mistaken that as your creation. Gratitude in our attitude in all of our praises for the journey is dark at times but a timeless light as we endure.
Blessed are those who adhere to the Law. The Law of One becomes the Law of NONE when the spirit in you is blasphemy. If you do not know blasphemy, that is a good place to start. However much of that darkness dewlls within thee, that is how much you must purge. Adhere to the Law of Truth, Righteousness and Heedful Spirit, and the rest will come to you and upon us all.
